AMCAS
Ahhh! AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) applications opened a few days ago. The site is really nicely built but the amount of information we have to put in is crazy! The soonest we can submit the application is June 5th so I am hoping I will have everything finished by then. So far I’ve completed the sections called “Identifying Information, Schools Attended, Biographic Information, and Course Work.” I have yet to fill in the “Work / Activities, Letters of Evaluation, Medical Schools, Essay’s, and Standardized Tests” sections. My MCAT is schedule for June 21st, and that day is quickly approaching.
On another note next week is finals week (even though my Pathologic Basis of Disease Final Exam was yesterday). I’m not too worried about them and the outcome of this semester will either be a 4.0 like Fall Term or a 3.92. It basically depends on how much my Ecology professor liked (or didn’t like) me. My NREMT practical exam is on the 12th and that should be a tense little ball of fun.
I also had an interview Tuesday for a position at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Portsmouth. That place is amazing and resembles more like a resort than a hospital. But the feel is the same and I hope I get hired there. It would be the perfect place to work on my patient bedside manner, learn from doctors and nurses, and study for the MCAT during slow times. I just sent in my references and should be hearing from them soon, hopefully.
I normally post a picture with my posts and I think this one is funny.
